Course Overview

The most recent report from the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) indicates that, in 2020 alone, there were 53,000 calls to their helpline, 8,000 complaint applications and 19,000 total complainants. The likelihood of any Irish employer or employee finding themselves before the WRC, at some point in their career, is high.

In this session, Barry Crushell, Employment Solicitor, will advise attendees on how best to resolve internal employee conflict, thereby avoiding WRC proceedings. In addition, he will explain the procedures of the WRC and speak to the various strategies that can be adopted to increase one’s chances of a successful determination.

This session will cover the following topics;

• Addressing internal disputes
• Workplace Relations Commission
• Responding to a formal complaint
• Preparing a submission
• Hearing procedures
• Post-WRC options
