This online CPD course will cover government grants, research and development expenditure, intangible assets and impairments of same. In this session you will learn how to interpret and apply the below sections of FRS 102. The session consists of the theory from FRS 102 supported by examples and useful tools. You will learn about some of the practical difficulties in applying these sections and how to overcome these.
The following sections of FRS 102 will be dealt with:
- Section 24 – Government grants
- Section 18 – Intangible assets other than goodwill
- Section 27 – Impairment of assets.

Elaine has over 15 years Accountancy Practice experience which has provided her with a wealth of knowledge across all industries and sectors. Elaine is an AITI Chartered Tax Advisor, a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Diploma in Corporate Finance.
In her previous roles, Elaine has experienced a number of ACA and ACCA monitoring reviews. This experience has provided Elaine with a great understanding and appreciation for the challenges facing Accountants in practice today.
