Session 1: Financial Reporting in Uncertain Times

We are facing a number of uncertainties including COVID-19, Brexit and climate change. Technology is developing and changing at an incredible pace. How does this ever-changing and unpredictable landscape affect financial statements?
In this session Lindsay Webber and Elaine Jackson will look at the impact of economic uncertainty on FRS 102 accounts. The following sections will be covered:

Session 2: Top Ten Queries Relating to the Statement of Comprehensive Income

Lindsay Webber and Elaine Jackson Fortune will review the top ten queries we see coming through on KnowledgeHub relating to the Statement of Comprehensive Income over the past year. This will be a practical session with real-life examples and application.

Session 3: Topical Financial Reporting Issues as Identified by the FRC and IAASA

Lindsay Webber and Elaine Jackson will review the areas identified by IAASA and the FRC which are most applicable and relevant to SME auditors and accountants. These areas that the FRC and IAASA have found are in need of improvement and these are the areas the institutes are likely to be focusing on in their reviews going forward.

Elaine has over 15 years Accountancy Practice experience which has provided her with a wealth of knowledge across all industries and sectors. Elaine is an AITI Chartered Tax Advisor, a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Diploma in Corporate Finance.

In her previous roles, Elaine has experienced a number of ACA and ACCA monitoring reviews. This experience has provided Elaine with a great understanding and appreciation for the challenges facing Accountants in practice today.
